    Dear Ms. Sedia,

Back in October of 2010 I had a story published in the circus-related anthology “Side Show 2: Tales of the Big Top and the Bizarre”. This was edited by Cathy Buburz & Tyree Campbell, and issued by Sam’s Dot Publishing.

My tale was called “A Ringling of Clowns” and basically was a loose retelling of the nativity story using evil clowns in a fictional resort town.

If this sounds like something I might submit for consideration in your reprint anthology, please let me know.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Kellar

I’ve just read a short story in a sideshow setting (vampires lurking in the ghost train, to be precise) from Narrelle M Harris’s new collection, “Showtime.” The story itself is called “Showtime,” and depending on when your anthology is due to be published, the exclusive rights part of the contract may or may not be lapsed by then? It’s a great story, anyway.

“Bread and Circuses” by Felicity Dowker was shortlisted for the Australian Shadows award, but it’s to appear in a collection by Ticonderoga later this year. So again…availability?

“All the Clowns in Clowntown” by Andrew J McKiernan, was shortlisted for the same award in the same year (2010). It seems we really like circuses right now :)

I’m sure you already have Genevieve Valentine’s various Circus Tresaulti short stories on your list…they may even have been the impetus for this antho…but she is so wonderful, I can’t help but mention her :)

My story “Courting the Queen of Sheba”, which first appeared in Arcane Magazine #1 (now called the Arcane Sampler) is set in the early American circus. If you’re willing to consider it or would like to know more, please do let me know.

Perhaps the stories in Bloody Carnival by Pill Hill Press?
